Jerry Lewis was a legendary American comedian, actor, singer, filmmaker, and humanitarian. Rising to fame in the 1940s as part of the comedy duo Martin and Lewis with singer Dean Martin, he became known for his zany, slapstick humor and distinctive voice. After the duo split in 1956, Lewis went on to a successful solo career, starring in and directing a series of hit comedies, including The Bellboy and The Nutty Professor.
